Skatecross is a race on inline skates over an obstacle course: ramps, boxes, tyres and jumps, with several skaters on the track at once. At Zone4Rollin we train skatecross from your first obstacles to starts in the national Skate Cross Series Poland.
Skatecross (also written as skate cross) is skating's answer to ski cross and boardercross: a race over a course packed with obstacles, with several athletes riding side by side. The track is set with ramps, boxes, stairs, tyres and tape — whoever rides the whole course fastest and cleanest wins.
The discipline tests practical skating skills: speed control, jumps, balance on landing and fighting for position. The thrills match winter sports — and the season runs all year, with outdoor courses in summer and indoor arenas in winter.
Alongside inline alpine (slalom on skates), skatecross is one of the two disciplines our sports section prepares athletes to compete in.
The format is simple and spectacular — from heats to finals.
Ramps, boxes, stairs, tyres and narrowings — every course is different, forcing jumps, hops and quick changes of direction.
Athletes start together and race wheel to wheel. Speed matters, but so does tactics: picking lines and overtaking.
The two fastest from each heat move on — through quarter- and semi-finals all the way to the grand final.
Racing is split into age categories for girls and boys — from the youngest riders to seniors. Everyone races their peers.
Skatecross is growing fast in Poland. Since 2024, skating schools from around the country have jointly run the national Skate Cross Series Poland league, which has held Polish Cup status since 2025 — over 150 athletes start at a single event, and season finals are held indoors (recently at Arena Pruszków).
Our sports section prepares athletes for exactly these starts — we travel to competitions with coaches, and you can find our athletes' results on the section page.
We train skatecross within advanced group classes and in our sports section. You build the basics in regular classes — you get onto obstacles once you skate confidently.

Skatecross is a race on inline skates over an obstacle course — ramps, boxes, stairs and tyres. Athletes start in heats of 3–4 and race wheel to wheel, with the two fastest advancing through the rounds. It is skating’s equivalent of ski cross.
Skatecross is several athletes racing at once on an obstacle course — fighting for position matters. Inline alpine is a solo timed run between slalom poles, as in alpine skiing. We train both disciplines in the Zone4Rollin sports section.
Skate Cross Series Poland has age categories from the youngest riders to seniors. With us, children start in group classes and move on to obstacle training and the section once they skate confidently — usually around age 6–8.
Regular group classes only need working recreational skates. Hardshell skates (hard shells, no brake) are required for skatepark training at Ave Park — the coach will advise when to buy them.
We run skatecross training at Ave Park (an indoor skatepark — obstacle riding) and at the National Stadium within advanced groups, with competitive training in the Zone4Rollin sports section.
It is a national skatecross series, holding Polish Cup status since 2025. Over 150 athletes start at a single event in age categories; heats run in groups of 3–4, and season finals are held indoors, e.g. at Arena Pruszków.
